Dr Kate Aldersey is a MWF co-SAS representative on Council. Kate is a Specialty Doctor specialising in Learning Disability Psychiatry. She is also SAS Advocate for East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT).
She trained at Bristol University and has worked in East London as a trainee and a SAS doctor in a number of sub-specialties. Her Advocate role has enabled her to develop her skills in medical management and she has brought about a number of changes to support SAS doctors in their careers at ELFT including introducing a process for Specialist grade appointment. Kate is passionate about supporting SAS doctors and ensuring they are widely represented. Between training and becoming a Specialty Doctor, Kate worked for Cancer Research UK in policy and programme management roles for a number of years.
