Dr Serah Mungai is a foundation doctor based in West Yorkshire and aspiring anaesthetist. She previously studied biomedical science, trained as a clinical perfusionist before turning to medicine.
Her motivation to become an MWF member and representative was to engage in debate and discussion around issues that greatly impact the most vulnerable groups of women in our society, and as clinicians the influence we have in making local change. Being a member of MWF has empowered her to engage with local charities tackling period poverty and celebrating International Women’s Day, as well as work with local clinicians to better understand the issues surrounding the Gender Pay Gap within our region and raise awareness locally.
Outside of medicine Serah enjoys running, gardening, travelling and photography. Although an amateur photographer, an interactive exhibition of portraits of faculty continues to be displayed at Swansea University.
