In light of the recent decision by Jeremy Hunt to impose the new contract on Junior Doctors, MWF President Dr Sally Davies has written to NHS Employers. Please see the letter below.

Dear Mr McMillan,
I am writing as President of the Medical Women’s Federation to express our concern at the imposition of the Junior Doctor Contract from August 2016. Exact details of the contract are unclear at present and our members are worried that the contract will discriminate against those who take breaks for maternity leave, ill health or disability, as well as those who work less than full time.
At this time of great uncertainty and low morale within the profession, we seek your confirmation that an Equality Impact Assessment of the new contract has been undertaken, if not please can you assure that it will be done soon.
We are looking forward to your prompt reply.
Yours sincerely,
Dr Sally J Davies
MWF President
