MWF Statement on the Junior Doctor Contract

MWF Banner logo

We are sorry to see the announcement today from the Secretary of State, Jeremy Hunt that the proposed junior doctor contract is to be imposed upon Junior Doctors in England from August 2016.

It is disappointing that the Government and NHS Employers have withdrawn from meaningful negotiation without resolution of the issues at stake, at a time when morale is at an all time low and recruitment to the profession suffering.

Rest assured that MWF will be doing their utmost going forward to confirm that an Equality Impact Assessment is carried out by NHS Employers prior to imposition of the contract to ensure that it does not impact unfairly upon women doctors.
